This week we had the pleasure of welcoming schoolgirls from all over Baden-Württemberg who took part in our exciting TryScience workshop. A total of eight institutes opened their doors and gave a hands-on demonstration of their research.

First, Prof. Zamira Daw gave them a general introduction to studying aerospace engineering. Divided into small groups, the girls then explored the various institutes that belong to the faculty at the University of Stuttgart. From aircraft construction, aerodynamics and thermodynamics to aerospace systems and wind energy  - there was a wealth of topics that aroused their curiosity.

At the Institute of Aircraft Systems, the students of tomorrow were finally able to take a seat in the flight simulator and take off, fly and land an Airbus A320 themselves. They all got out of the cockpit with proud faces.

The TryScience workshop has certainly awakened new interests in them. Hopefully some of them now share our passion for flying. We hope to see them again as aerospace engineering students at the University of Stuttgart!
