How can artificial intelligence (AI) support pilots in aviation? And what does it take for them to trust an AI? These and other exciting questions will be answered in the IRIS Insights Talk with Prof. Dr. Zamira Daw, Professor of AI in Aviation Systems.

Prof. Daw and her team are researching innovative AI-based technologies that both enable efficient flying and increase air traffic safety. In an interdisciplinary collaboration with IRIS researchers, she uses flight simulations to investigate how pilots and AI can work together in the best possible way. Based on this, the team is developing system requirements, safety assessments and pilot training.  The results will be instrumental in shaping regulatory guidelines for AI certification in aviation.
